Letter from the Executive Director

Dear alum,

As a Swedish Program alum, you know the value of studying abroad firsthand.

Since our founding in 1987, nearly three thousand students like you have gained critical skills and perspectives—both personal and professional—by studying abroad with us in Stockholm.

We know everyone has their own favorite memory. It might be exploring Stockholm with new friends, sharing a meal with your host or contact family, exploring Viking relics on the island of Gotland, riding on a dog sled in the Arctic, or visiting Berlin or Budapest during our very first study trips. Perhaps it’s simply the day you realized that Stockholm felt like home.

Please know that your contribution today will help us ensure we can continue offering future students similar memorable and meaningful intercultural experiences.

Like everyone in international education, we are facing serious financial challenges. The global pandemic forced us to cancel our fall and spring semesters, which means a full academic year without funding. So many of us are facing financial hardship, and we understand that you may not be in the position to consider making a donation to The Swedish Program. But if you are able to do so, we would be sincerely grateful for your help in continuing our mission of promoting the values of global citizenship. We believe that mission is critically important, now more than ever.
