Maintenance Requests #

Make a Fault Report #

You must report any damages or needed repairs immediately via the Fault Report Form. Please include as much detail as possible and add pictures if applicable.

Lost or Stolen Keys #

If your keys are lost or stolen, submit a Fault Report. The property owner requires a lock change. You will be responsible for this cost, which typically costs around 3000 SEK.

Until the locksmith comes to change your lock, you can borrow a spare apartment key from the Swedish Program office during normal business hours (9:00–16:00, Monday through Friday). If you are locked out of your apartment outside of these hours – for example, at night or on the weekend – you have a few options:

  • Stay with a friend until the office opens again, OR
  • Stay at a hotel at your own expense, OR
  • Call the property’s emergency maintenance company, Securitas, at 010-470 53 65 (from a non-Swedish number, +46 10-470 53 65) to request an emergency locksmith at your own expense. The cost is typically around 3000 SEK plus a 1500+ SEK emergency fee.

If you choose to stay at a hotel at your own expense, the following hotels (among others) ofter late-night check-in. Please note that we offer this list as a convenience, not an endorsement.

  • Comfort Hotel™ Xpress Stockholm Central (call ahead)
  • Generator Hostel
  • Scandic Go Upplandsgatan (check-in possible until midnight)

Please note that if you are locked out because your phone has lost power and you can’t access Boxxy, there is a phone charging station located at Nekvägen 41.

After-Hours Maintenance Emergencies #

Emergency maintenance issues (such as a water leak or power outage) that occur outside of normal business hours should be reported to the property’s emergency maintenance company, Securitas, at 010-470 53 65 (from a non-Swedish number, +46 10-470 53 65). Make sure that the issue is truly urgent before calling, as you will be charged a fee for using their service for non-emergency cases.

Water Leak #

If the drainage pipe under your kitchen or bathroom sink is leaking when the tap is turned off, call the property’s emergency maintenance company, Securitas, at 010-470 53 65 (from a non-Swedish number, +46 10-470 53 65).

If the pipe leaks when the tap is running but does not leak when the tap is off, this is not considered an emergency. Make a fault report and avoid using that sink until you receive further instructions.

Power Outage #

In the event of a power outage, check outside your apartment to see if the rest of the building has power. If the power is out in the rest of the building, call the property’s emergency maintenance company, Securitas, at 010-470 53 65 (from a non-Swedish number, +46 10-470 53 65).

If the power is working normally outside of your apartment, you have likely tripped a breaker. Remove the last electrical device you plugged into an outlet, then check your fuse box. If any of the switches in the fuse box have flipped down, flip them back up. This should restore your power.
