Additional Expenses #
Fall 2026–Spring 2027 #
Invoiced Expenses #
You will be issued an invoice for the following additional expenses as applicable to your registration. Payment is due by April 1 (fall term and academic year) or October 15 (spring term). You will receive the invoice approximately 2–3 weeks before payment is due.

Please note that the Swedish Migration Agency has established a financial support requirement of 11,840 Swedish kronor (SEK) per semester in Stockholm. As part of the residence permit application, you must demonstrate that you meet this requirement through bank statements and/or a letter from your Financial Aid Office. Other Optional Expenses #
| Monthly personal expenses Stockholm, like most capital cities, is expensive. This estimate is extremely variable as it depends on personal consumption and travel plans. Students may spend less given that Program fees cover most daily expenses including housing, food, public transportation, gym access, and health insurance. |

Bill Pay through Online Banking #
Allow 5 days before the due date to ensure timely posting of your payment. Your bank can issue a check directly to The Swedish Program from your checking account through the Bill Pay option available through online banking. ACH Transfer #
Please contact Ali Gluck at least 2-3 business days before the due date for instructions (admin@swedishprogram.org or (315) 737-0123). ACH is an electronic transfer from your checking or savings account to The Swedish Program’s bank account. A convenience fee of 1% is added to each ACH Transfer payment.
Debit or Credit Card #
Please contact Ali Gluck at least 2-3 business days before the due date for instructions (admin@swedishprogram.org or (315) 737-0123). A convenience fee of 2.99% is added to each debit or credit card payment.
Withdrawal Policy #
The Swedish Program goes to work on each student’s housing placement upon enrollment and makes other financial commitments on behalf of enrolled students soon after receiving the initial deposit. Therefore, students who withdraw after registering are subject to the refund and penalty schedule outlined below. Please note: these financial penalties apply regardless of whether payment has already been submitted or remains outstanding.
Refunds exceeding the specified amount or submitted after the specified dates will only be considered for health-related reasons concerning the student or their immediate family. Please inform the Program of your intent to withdraw for medical reasons and ask your treating physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, or similar to complete the Medical Withdrawal Form within two weeks. Students withdrawing for medical reasons may request to defer their admission to a later semester.
Refund and Penalty Schedule #

Students who withdraw before the required Arrival Day of August 24, 2026 will receive a full refund for the apartment deposit and transcript fee (if applicable).
Tuition, room, and board costs may be eligible for a refund, less a penalty, based on the date of withdrawal. These financial penalties apply regardless of whether payment has already been submitted or remains outstanding under the payment schedule.
- On or before April 30: No penalty applied to tuition, room, and board costs.
- Between May 1 and May 31: 25% penalty on tuition, room, and board costs, equivalent to $9,313.50.
- Between June 1 and July 31: 50% penalty on tuition, room, and board costs, equivalent to $18,627.
- On or after August 1: No refund of tuition, room, or board will be issued.
Please note:
- The $500 program deposit and optional excursion fee are non-refundable.
- No tuition, room, or board refunds will be issued for withdrawals made on or after Arrival Day.
- Any outstanding balance resulting from the withdrawal penalty remains the student’s responsibility, regardless of prior payment status.
Spring 2027 #
Students who withdraw before the required Arrival Day of January 11, 2027 will receive a full refund for the apartment deposit and transcript fee (if applicable).
Tuition, room, and board costs may be eligible for a refund, less a penalty, based on the date of withdrawal. These financial penalties apply regardless of whether payment has already been submitted or remains outstanding under the payment schedule.
- On or before October 31: No penalty applied to tuition, room, and board costs.
- Between November 1 and November 30: 25% penalty on tuition, room, and board costs, equivalent to $9,313.50.
- Between December 1 and December 31: 50% penalty on tuition, room, and board costs, equivalent to $18,627.
