Receiving Mail #
All mail and packages must be sent to your apartment or host family address. SSE does not accept student mail. Do not send mail or packages to SSE. Student mail or packages sent to SSE will declined by the mail room and returned to the sender.
In emergency cases, students can request approval from the Head of Administration to ship sensitive documents (e.g., a replacement for a lost passport or credit card) directly to SSE. It is important to make the request before shipping the documents so that the Head of Administration can provide the correct address and inform the mail room at SSE to accept the package.
Customs and Fees #
Any package that you receive from the US or any other non-EU country will be subject to importation paperwork, fees, taxes, and delays. This applies to both personal packages (e.g., a care package from your family) and commercial packages (e.g., an order from an online retailer). Thus, we strongly recommend that you pack a semester-long supply of any products that you will need from the US.
If students, family members, or others decide to ship packages to students from outside the EU, the student will be solely responsible for all importation paperwork, contact with customs or shipping authorities, payments, and package collection.
You can find more information about importation rules, paperwork, and fees on the website for Tullverket, the Swedish import authority:

Sending Mail #
You can buy stamps and envelopes in most grocery stores and convenience stores. It costs 15 SEK to send a letter within Sweden and 30 SEK to send a letter overseas (up to 50 grams). Stamps are sold in various values, so make sure you purchase stamps with the correct postage value. Once your letter is stamped, drop it in a PostNord mailbox. If you need to mail a package, visit a PostNord service center. Learn more about sending mail on the Postnord website.
